AJJ Crochet — Color Block Designer
Quickly design complex color blocks and instantly generate the stitch by stitch pattern to insert right into one of our patterns or into your custom project.
Configure Your Inputs
▾Each input maps to a color, a color label (used to build the "ctX" color-change token), and a stitch abbreviation. Two inputs can share a color — a change is only inserted when the color actually changes between groups. Start with what you need and add more as your design calls for it.
| Color | Color label (for ct) | Stitch abbrev. |
|---|
Advanced Options
▾Rounds are worked continuously in the same direction with no turning — nothing gets reversed. Rows are turned at the end of each one, so right-side and wrong-side rows read in opposite directions; switching to Rows reverses every other row in the output to match.
If this color block starts partway into a larger pattern — say, row 19 — set that here and the pattern output will number from there instead of 1.
Design Your Color Block
▾Click a cell to select it, click-and-drag to select a rectangular range, or Ctrl/Cmd+click to add or remove a single cell from the selection. Arrow keys move the active cell; Tab or Enter jumps to the next cell. With cells selected, type a digit (0–9) to fill them — inputs of more than one digit accumulate briefly as you type. Ctrl/Cmd+C copies the selected block, Ctrl/Cmd+V pastes it with its top-left corner at the current selection. Backspace/Delete removes the last typed digit, or clears selected cells if nothing's pending. Esc to deselect. Resizing the grid preserves cells that still fit.
